Running On Empty

I am tired! I feel as though I’ve been sowing for a while and have not seen the harvest. In my weakness, sometimes I feel like I can’t go on. I feel like I don’t have the energy to go forward.

This is why during this time of testing, God gave me Energy Boost. He knew I would get here. In my feelings, I can get frustrated. I can revert to old behaviors in frustration because I feel like what’s the use of even trying.

As I was praying, and crying, God gave me a word. He told me He emptied me to fill me more. The less of me, the more of Him that is available. When I am weak, I am strong because of the Holy Spirit living within me (2 Corinthians 12:9-10).

This is what you and I need to remember. We will reap what we sow; we will harvest what we plant (Galatians 6:7-8). That’s in the Word and the Word is the truth. That’s why we must know the Word for ourselves. When we are wallowing in our feelings, which can lead us to believing the lies of the devil, we can get tripped up (Hebrews 12:1). But that’s okay; God will lift us when we stumble (Psalm 37:23-24) and we can believe this if we know this. We only know this from knowing God. Not knowing about God, but knowing Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Knowing this, though I still feel weary, I know I am strong. I know I will make it through. What is in my heart and yours is the lifeline to what we believe and what we will see (Ephesians 1:18)! Even if we don’t physically see it, yet, we know we will because He has promised us and His Word never returns void (Isaiah 55:11)!

What’s in your heart? That is what God will give you, in His timing, if you trust and believe in Him (Psalm 37:4).

Today, my prayer is that we believe!

Heavenly Father, I know sometimes we easily revert to our humanity. But, in your awesome plan, You sent your Son in the flesh to understand the trials we experience, so there is nothing He can’t comfort us in (Hebrews 2:18). So, when we feel empty and like we can’t go on, give us the wisdom to look at the situation differently (James 1:3-5)! Let us look at it as an opportunity for You to fill us even more with the Holy Spirit, for us to do exceedingly and abundantly more than we can ever ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). May we always remember we are here for a purpose (Psalm 139:16) and every season is purposeful in your divine plan for us (Ecclesiastes 3:1-14). And though the pruning that You do in our lives can feel difficult when we are experiencing it (Hebrews 12:2-11), it will allow for us to reap a plentiful harvest. Let us not get tired of doing good (Galatians 6:9).
In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
