Are You Kidding Me?

When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things.
-1 Corinthians 13:11 NLT

I remember as a young Girl Scout singing the song "Father Abraham"; you can check out a rendition here. My mom was the Girl Scout leader and by the time she and the assistant troop leaders finished leading me and the other girls in the troop through the song, we'd be praising the Lord with our whole bodies.

God's been calling me since I was a child to be an instrument to completely serve Him; to use my whole body to do what is right for His glory (Romans 6:13). But at my first remembrance of recognizing His glory - joyfully amazed by the vastness of the Atlantic Ocean at Myrtle Beach - I was not able to articulate the experience as the glory of the Lord. I simply said "Wow!"

Over the years, God has continued to speak to me and amaze me through His Creation (Psalm 19:1-4). As I have gotten to know Him (Romans 1:20), I've yielded to His discipline (Hebrews 12:5-11). But, this didn’t come without struggle.

The enemy plotted against me, making me feel like I was less than. The prince of the power of the air whispered lies that bound me to acting in way I thought made me worthy for God to use me.

But there was another song we used to sing at Girl Scouts, "I Can Run Through A Troop". It states that “I am free from condemnation, ‘cause Jesus is the Rock of my salvation.”

There is no condemnation in Christ (Romans 8:1)!

These songs in my heart helped me to be filled with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:15-20) and rejoice in the Rock of my Salvation (Psalm 95:1-2), reminding me how great my God is (Psalm 95:3-4).

“The sea belongs to him, for he made it. His hands formed the dry land, too” (Psalm 95:5 NLT) and He promised me during a Sunrise at the Mediterranean Sea that I would shine on and lead many to righteousness through Authentic Existence®.

“Those who are wise will shine as bright as the sky, and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever” (Daniel 12:3).

God had also showed Father Abraham (Romans 4:1) through the sky and stars and sand on the seashore the number of descendants he would have (Genesis 15:5-6; Genesis 22:17). I had the great example of Father Abraham’s faith (Hebrews 11:10-12) to witness to me to move fo(u)r-ward in running my race (Hebrews 12:1).

"For by thee I have run through a troop; And by my God have I leaped over a wall" (Psalm 18:29 KJV).

God has been putting in my spirit since I was a child that there is nothing that can stop me from doing what He has called me to do.

"Train up a child in the way [s]he should go; And when [s]he is old, [s]he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6 KJV).

God has given me His whole armor to stand firm against the strategies of the devil (Ephesians 6:10-18) and stay focused on the vision He has given me through the Bold Full Moon™️ (Habakkuk 2:2-4). This is how I keep in harmony with the Author and Finisher of my faith (Hebrews 12:2) and have life more abundantly; these songs in my heart keep the devil from stealing my joy (John 10:10).

Whenever I hear clanging noise, I know it’s not the love of my Father. God is love (1 John 4:7-10); I know Him (Romans 1:20) and the Good News through everything He has created (Psalm 19:1-4; John 1:1-5). I believe the message of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Romans 10:8-18). So, I can choose to love

Tasting and seeing that the Lord is good has grown me up in the full experience of my salvation (1 Peter 2:2-3). Therefore, whenever I am tempted by the enemy, as a child of God, I will say “No!…

…The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone, but every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4 NLT).

Listening to the voice of my Creator (Psalm 95:6-7), I will say "No!” to any questioning of my identity (Matthew 4:6) and only worship and serve the Lord my God (Matthew 4:10) - giving my body as a living and holy sacrifice (Romans 12:1).

I’m able to speak with spiritual maturity, laughing in the face of the enemy (Genesis 21:6) when he tries to say my God won’t do what He says He will do…are you kidding me!?

Before God made the world, He loved you and me and chose us to be holy and without fault in His eyes (Ephesians 1:4). He has planted eternity in our hearts, though we can’t see the full scope of His work from beginning to end (Ecclesiastes 3:11). Everything we see now is imperfect, partial and incomplete (1 Corinthians 13:12), so we must focus on what lasts forever - faith, hope and love, with the greatest being love (1 Corinthians 13:13).

Are you in tune with the Father to be able to do what He says He will do through you?
